Children’s Museum of Houston was established in 1980 and is housed in a structure created in the style of Robert Venturi. It is located within the Museum District in Houston, Texas. It offers a variety of exciting exhibits and bilingual educational activities for children to interact with, starting at the age of 12. It’s already served over 1,400,000 visitors each year and has been one of 190 child-friendly museums across the United States and 15 children’s museums in Texas.
The Museum was created to promote early childhood development as an overall priority for the community. The museum was established in 1984 but initially leased space of the Blaffer Gallery of the University of Houston. A few years later, it was moved to 11,000 square feet of space leased to an earlier Star Engraving Company Building on Allen Parkway.
The museum serves over 1 million people each year. The museum has won many accolades, such as being the first in 2005’s top children’s museum worldwide. In 2001, when Child Magazine ranked the museum second. According to Parents magazine, it was described to be “America’s No. 1 Children’s Museum.

Please note that advanced online ticket reservations are required to access. No walk-up visits will be permitted. Museum members and CityPASS holders can visit without reservations. However, we strongly encourage early registration to ensure that you have space.

EcoStation
EcoStation is recognized as a certified wildlife habitat through the National Wildlife Federation. Try rubbing leaves, identifying footprints, studying the decomposition process, spotting wildlife on the lake (including their red-eared sliders), and much more.

Cyberchase is a math game that provides an exciting, action-packed setting where you’ll need to apply your thinking skills to make it through the day!
